Magaluf gang 'laughed' as they 'enjoyed' filming themselves raping Brit, 18

The vile group said to have gang raped an 18-year-old Brit holidaying in Magaluf laughed as they filmed the sick attack on their mobile phones, according to reports.

The victim was discovered crying in the street by a security guard on Monday who immediately called police.

She gave officers a description of the suspects, and so far six men have been arrested and remanded into custody in Palma as investigations continue.

The British woman was taken to hospital and local media said grip marks were found on her arms, while detectives have reviewed CCTV footage of the hotel entrance.

Today it emerged that the men believed to be responsible were "laughing" during the sickening attack.

Última Hora reported that a local magistrate said the men were heard “enjoying and laughing”. It was also suggested there were two more men who took part than previously believed, with police searching for the other two. It is said the group made more than 20 videos of the incident, with 13 found on one of their phones.

A probe, led by a team of Civil Guard specialists, is expected to take several months to complete. A spokesman for the force said: “I can confirm we are investigating an alleged gang rape at a hotel in Magaluf. “We were alerted by the hotel in the early hours of Monday after the alleged victim raised the alarm.

"One set of officers took her to hospital so she could be examined by a doctor. Another team of officers set about trying to locate the alleged aggressors. They were arrested over the following hours. The investigation is ongoing. Five of the men arrested are French and the sixth suspect is a Swiss national. They are all in their 20s.”

An insider confirmed the alleged victim was a British tourist aged 18. They said: “All six men have been remanded in custody by a judge. The decision to remand them in custody would not have been taken lightly.” The hotel where the alleged attack took place is in the centre of Magaluf.

Tourism chiefs have tried to rid the resort of its boozy image. Strict laws were introduced three years ago, including a ban on pub crawls and happy hours and the sale of alcohol in shops after 9.30pm. Every year, an estimated 2.1million Brits visit the Spanish island of Majorca.
