Sir Paul McCartney thanked Dolly Parton after collaborating with her on a new version of The Beatles' Let It Be. Dolly, 77, has an album called Rockstar coming out in November and worked with multiple big stars for the project.

The duo worked together on the new version of the song and Sir Paul, 81, was 'very pleased' to be by her side for the production of it. In a recent interview with TalkShopLive, Dolly discussed inadvertently organising a reunion of “all the living Beatles” after working with Sir Paul and Sir Ringo Starr.

"Does it get any better than singing ‘Let It Be’ with @PaulMcCartney who wrote the song? Not only that, he played piano!” she told her followers on Twitter. "Well, it did get even better when @ringostarrmusic joined in on drums, @peterframpton on guitar and @MickFleetwood playing percussion.

"I mean, seriously, how much better does it get? Thanks guys!" The Beatles legend Paul later retweeted the post and thanked her for doing the song, writing: "Thanks Dolly for doing my song. I love your version and am very pleased to be by your side on this one. Rock on! Love Paul"

Fans loved the new rendition and took to the comment section to gush about his voice, with one writing: "Paul's vocal performance on this rendition is really really good: a voice stil as smooth as chocolate fudge. Just love it." Another person said: "Beautiful- Dolly and Paul sound great."

"Beautiful harmonies with you two— but that should come as no surprise to anyone," one person tweeted and another commented: "Dolly, Paul, Ringo, Mick, Peter - an amazing version of such an iconic song. Thank you for the beautiful version of Let It Be. You brought a big smile to my face. Peace and Love to all!"

Dolly recently reluctantly accepted a place in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame last year and promptly set out to earn the accolade by recording a 30-track album, Rockstar, at the age of 77. She sings Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me with Sir Elton John, and joins the two surviving Beatles in Let It Be, with Peter Frampton and Mick Fleetwood making up the numbers.

Her goddaughterMiley Cyrusis also on the album, duetting a version of her hit Wrecking Ball. Rockstar includes nine original songs and 21 covers.
