YouTube star KSI could hang up the gloves after his fight with Tommy Fury this October without ever putting an end to his feud with Jake Paul.

The social media sensations have been going back and forth for five years, with KSI initially calling out the younger Paul before eventually facing his brother Logan instead at the Manchester Arena in 2018. And after the Brit ended up drawing and winning his series of fights with Jake's older sibling, he set his sights on another Paul scalp.

However, with the bout seemingly on the verge of being made in 2020, coronavirus lockdowns scuppered plans, and the Brit ended up taking three years off to focus on his chart-topping rap career. In the meantime Paul continued boxing as a professional, amassing a 7-1 record including a loss to Fury, whom KSI feels will be a big enough win to leave the sport with.

"Once I beat Tommy Fury I hold all the cards, I am that guy," KSI said in a recent YouTube video discussing his upcoming fight. "I know Jake Paul and Tommy Fury are going to be on my a** wanting to fight and I'm going to be the one high up on my throne going 'nah, you motherf***ers fight and I'll decide what I want to do after.

"He's trying to nullify the fight between me and Tommy Fury, saying it's an exhibition fight even though everything about the fight is pro. It's a pro fight, the only difference is it's not the British Boxing Board of Control governing the event it's the PBA, it's a completely different governing body. Just because it isn't on Boxrec doesn't mean it doesn't exist."

And speaking on the MMA Hour last week, he confirmed that retirement may be on the cards; intimating that he has around an 80 per cent chance of quitting the sport should he win. Fury is a massive favourite given his boxing pedigree as an amateur and professional as well as his family history in the sport including his brother; heavyweight champion Tyson.

“I’d say eighty percent [that I retire after this],” KSI explained. “I’ve been trying to fight Jake for how long? And it’s just constant excuses and then it’s crazy, he tries to manipulate the audience to make it look like it’s my fault, that I’m the one that’s afraid to fight Jake, when I’m there like, ‘No. Let’s go. Let’s do it, finally.’

"I’ve got legacy tattooed on my back. This is why I do what I do. It’s the final piece of the puzzle and he doesn’t want to give it to me, so I’m like, alright, cool, let me just indirectly beat you by beating Tommy.”
