Ronan Keating calls death of brother 'hardest time' as he shares South Africa vacation photos with Storm and kids

Ronan Keating has revealed that the last five weeks have been "the hardest time for us all" following the sudden death of his brother last month.

Tragedy struck the Irish singer and his family this summer when his older brother, Ciaran Keating, died in a car crash in Co. Mayo on July 16. Ronan, 46, took to Instagram on Friday morning to speak out about the devastating loss and to thank his fans for their "love and respect" during the difficult time.

"Everyone is trying to manage a life now without our brother," the former Boyzone member wrote, before admitting it's been "very hard to even type" the update. He then revealed that he and wife Storm have jetted off to South Africa with their two young children to grieve and recover.

"There is no more fitting a place to heal, than in South Africa surrounded by Mother Nature and great people and our little bundles of joy Cooper and Coco, have kept us going constantly," Ronan wrote. "Thank you god. Back to work for me in another part of the world I love now… it all seems rather difficult to make sense of but trying my best."

The When You Say Nothing At All singer signed off his poignant message by urging his followers to "take care of each other" and thanking them on behalf of Storm and the rest of his family for their ongoing support.

Ronan's followers were quick to respond to the statement, with many sharing kind words in the comment section below.

"Thinking of you all during this difficult time no words will ease your pain and sadness, cherish the memories," one person wrote, while another said, "So glad you are able to reflect and heal in our beautiful city and land. Take care."
