A skincare brand that is loved by chemists and dermatologists across the world, raved about on platforms like TikTok for its ability to target and help acne prone, oily and sensitive skin has today (Thursday, August 17) released its new skin balancing range in Boots - it's the biggest launch since 2019 and one which claims to "fill a gap" in the skincare world.

Curél is a leading Japanese skincare brand whose big focus is on dry and sensitive skin with its concoctions being designed specifically to "replenish, protect and promote the natural ceramide" in skin. Available from Boots from just £12.50 the new range will include a new foaming face wash (a product which in the past has received rave reviews), hydrating water essence - to soothe and hydrate skin - and gel moisturiser.

Designed to combat excess sebum (an oily substance your body produces to keep the skin moisturised), this specific range has those with oily and sensitive skin type in mind thanks to its pH-balanced, fragrance free and non-comedogenic (pore clogging) ingredients.

Reflecting on this new range, all of which is available at your nearest Boots store and online, Dr Catharine Denning, an ambassador for Curél, said: "Historically, Skincare that has focused on tackling oily, blemish-prone skin has used very active, drying and stripping ingredients whilst not addressing the skin’s barrier function.

"There was never a good option for skin that was oily or blemish prone whilst being simultaneously sensitive. This range is designed to help regulate oily skin whilst maintaining the skin's barrier function by preserving and replenishing ceramide levels in the epidermis.

"I feel this range fills a gap in patient demand, especially as actives are often overused particularly in this cohort of people and so their barrier function is often compromised leading to further oil production and breakouts."

One happy customer described the range as: "It enhances the effect of your moisturiser. Along with it’s added ingredients it helps your skin absorb your moisturiser better and leaves your skin feeling soft and hydrated."

The range includes:

If you're after a set and you're more of a toner or cleansing balm kind of person, Elemis has a beauty box on offer with Boots that gives you five amazing products for £55 - although it's worth £95. Products include Balancing Lavender Toner, Pro-Collagen Marine Cream, Pro-Collagen Rose Cleansing Balm, Pro-Collagen Marine Moisture Essence and Superfood Glow Priming Moisturiser.

For a tried and tested and much-loved foaming cleanser that comes in at less than a tenner, CeraVe's Hydrating Cleanser is a godsend for dry skin. Another one that has rave reviews is The Ordinary's Glucoside Foaming Cleanser, about which one shopper said: "I have very sensitive skin, and am prone to cystic acne. This cleanser was actually gentle enough to clear my breakouts without ruining my skin barrier." If the cleanser is not enough, LOOKFANTASTIC is selling the brand's 'The Balance Set' - consisting of its squalane cleanser, salicylic acid mask, hyaluronic acid and natural moisturising cream for £23.80.
