Actor Ioan Gruffud has continued to call his ex-wife Alice Evans a 'child abuser' in new court documents amid their bitter custody battle over their two young children - Ella, 13, and Elsie, nine.

In the public court filings filed in early August, the 49-year-old claimed Evans 'continued to inflict serious emotional harm on Ella and Elsie by her statements and by interfering in my relationship with them.' He said that his ex-wife 'verbally abused and undermined' him in front of their children 'throughout their lives.' He previously made the same claims in a filing from June.

"Since January 2021, Alice has also encouraged and instructed them not to see me or communicate with me and she has made thousands of threatening and abusive communications to me and about me," he wrote in the declaration.

He also touched on Evans and Gruffud's eldest daughter filing a restraining order request against him and his partner Bianca Wallace, which was denied. The teenager previously requested a restraining order for herself and her sister Elsie against the actress for five years.

Ioan said about the restraining order request: "I believe Alice has used and harmed Ella, and I believe Alice was the person behind Ella's actions and TRO/DVRO request."

He went on to claim that Evans has been refusing to bring their girls to therapy sessions despite it being an Order for the girls to attend. "Since separation, the girls have missed more therapy sessions than they have attended, and they have had multiple therapists," he said.

Ioan concluded his Declaration by saying he believes "Alice's actions are child abuse and I am gravely concerned for our children." In the filing shared on MailOnline, Evans disagreed with the allegations of her causing their children "serious emotional harm".

The actress said "no professional, nor teacher, nor school administrator, nor counsel, nor therapist" ever contacted her or reported her for causing 'emotional harm' to the children.

She also said that his visitation schedule allows him to "freely" contact their children by he has "for whatever reason not done so" and that he has "has not seen, complied with, nor called the children for 11 weeks".

Her response read: "I do not agree to have the children and ourselves be subjected to a prolonged and expensive child custody evaluation if it's based on the speculation and conjecture of the petitioner's suspicions. Petitioner says he believes the kids are suffering serious emotional harm but show no proof of any symptoms experienced by our girls to support those accusations.

"Petitioner has his visitation schedule and has the ability to freely call the kids but has for whatever reason not done so. Given his silence and lack of effort to have a relationship with the children, I do not believe petitioner has shown a need or urgency for appointment of a child custody evaluator."

Gruffudd filed for divorce from Evans in 2021 following the fallout of their dramatic split. The former couple met during the filming of 102 Dalmatians and were married for 13 years after they tied the knot in 2007.
