Twitter calls for Sandra Bullock to lose Oscar for The Blind Side 'lie'

Sandra Bullock fans are calling for her to return her Oscar

After it was claimed that the whole The Blind Side movie story may be a sham, fans are calling for Sandra Bullock's Oscar to be revoked. This backlash comes immediately following the death of her partner, Bryan Randall.

Michael Oher, the football player who is the inspiration for the movie, came forward with claims that it was all a "lie" and the adoption was never real. Instead, he told the court that it was a trick to get him to sign his rights away to the family through a conservatorship. Under the conservatorship, Michael claims he was unable to enter into his own contracts.

This new information potentially puts the The Blind Side's authenticity and charm in jeopardy. In the movie the Tuohy family is painted in a wonderful light, with the unwavering determination to help Michael.

Sandra played Leigh Anne Tuohy, the matriarch of the family. She went on to win an Oscar for the role, but now fans are saying that she should have that taken away. There is no evidence to suggest that Sandra was aware of Michael's allegations ahead of playing the role or accepting the Oscar.

One fans suggested that they should retroactively resolve an Oscar snub with the shake up. They wrote on Twitter: "If the Michael Oher allegations are true then we have to go AND TAKE THE OSCAR back from Sandra Bullock and give it to Gabourey Sidibe for ‘Precious’."

Another fan made a bold comparison and prediction. They said: "They’re gonna pull Sandra Bullock’s Oscar like Reggie Bush’s Heisman."

Journalist Ernest Owens actually suggested that The Blind Side's success was based on Sandra entirely. They said: "Let's be honest, the only reason why people even cared about The Blind Side is because they wanted Sandra Bullock to finally win the Oscar... if we knew Gravity was coming out years later, we should have cut the campaign short."

Yet, some fans are acknowledging that Sandra is going through a hard enough time as it is. A fan said: "Sandra Bullock has proven time and again how good she is and she just lost her partner to ALS. She didn’t do anything other than play a role with information about the subjects that is now grossly different. Leave her the f**k alone and pretend the Oscar is for 'Gravity'."
