A biopic based on the life of Sinéad O'Connor was reportedly in the works just weeks before the singer sadly passed away. And it's said none other than Demi Moore was being scouted to play the role of late star.

Apparently, it was Sinéad herself who was interested in having Demi step into the role and was keen to discuss a potential venture with the actress.

"Sinéad was keen to explore making her memoir into her film and she had a raft of ideas about how it would look on screen, a source said. "She had a huge amount of respect for Demi and thought Niamh was a real rising star after she saw her in her TV series The Virtues. Sinéad, too, thought Saoirse was fierce and loved her from her film Brooklyn in 2015 when she played an Irish migrant," they continued.

In a somewhat satirical dig at the Catholic Church, the insider continued to tell The Sun that Sinéad wanted three different actresses to play her throughout the film. The other two possible candidates were reportedly Saoirse Ronan and Niamh Algar.

Her choices were very intentional, with the insider claiming: "It was clear Sinead had given real thought to the biopic and seemed keen to get involved in the script." A biopic wasn't the only thing that the singer had in the works before her death. Her managers, Kenneth and Carl Papenfus, revealed on their company's site that Sinéad was “completing her new album”.

They wrote: “As tribute to those who were part of Sinead’s team over our tenure it has to be mentioned that Sinead was completing her new album, reviewing new tour dates for 2024 and considering opportunities in relation to a movie of her book. Wonderful plans were afoot at this time. Testament and tribute to those who have put their hearts first for Sinead, to whom we are forever grateful.”

Whether or not these unfinished projects will reach the hands of fans is yet to be determined. The Mirror has reached out to Demi Moore's representatives for comment.

Sinéad's final message to fans was a chilling comment about her son's passing. She said: "Been living as undead night creature since. He was the love of my life, the lamp of my soul. We were one soul in two halves. He was the only person who ever loved me unconditionally. I am lost in the bardo without him.”
