Emmerdale hospital dash

Emmerdale will air some dramatic scenes this week as one character suffers a heart attack and is rushed to hospital. Things have been tricky on the ITV soap recently, especially for Bob, who was horrified to find out his partner Wendy was having an affair. She had been sneaking around with her colleague Liam, but the truth was finally unveiled when Bernice rumbled their secret.

This week in the Dales, Bob is still struggling with what Wendy has done to him. She decides she needs to leave her job, and heads to Liam's house to hand in her resignation. He understands why she needs to do it and her focus turns to repairing things with Bob.

However, Bob gets the wrong end of the stick when he sees the pair leaving the cottage together. Horrified, he sees red and punches Liam in the face. The villagers try to calm him down, but he throws the football at Liam.

Things soon take a horrifying turn when Bob suffers a heart attack. An ambulance is called, and soon Wendy and Liam are left feeling terrible. Wendy heads to the hospital, but it's not until the next day when Bob starts to stir.

EastEnders' Alfie's worrying news

Alfie Moon gets some worrying news on EastEnders this week. Soap bosses have teased that there will be a tough road ahead for Alfie - played by Shane Richie - and it looks like that will begin this week when Alfie is given some worrying news. He has been struggling with things as of late, especially given that he wasn't able to spend long with the twins on their birthday, before Freddie jumped in to save the day with an early pirate themed party.

This week on the BBC soap, Phil heads to the bookies and asks Alfie to look after his kids whilst Kat is busy visiting Little Mo. Freddie arrives, desperate for a pep-talk from Alfie, before letting slip that Tommy was the one who told him where to find Graham. Tommy and Alfie end up having a huge row and Tommy storms out.

Later, Alfie finds him at the park and orders him home, as things get worse. Phil sees it happen, and later shares some home truths with Alfie, who is desperate to try and make things work. He apologises for being an absent father, but things turn worse when he forbids him from seeing Perry. Phil notices that Alfie is grimacing in pain and insists he visits the hospital.

Later in the week, Tommy sees Alfie heading in a cab to the hospital, but what does he find out? When Alfie returns to Walford and attempts to apologise to Linda, she notices something is wrong and he's not his usual self. Alfie, meanwhile, is struggling to process his recent news, whilst Tommy admits he is worried about Alfie after seeing him head to the hospital, but what could be wrong?

Corrie return

Coronation Street is set for explosive scenes this week as a character returns to Weatherfield to drop a huge DNA bombshell. Fans will recall that Evelyn Plummer was last seen in June, where she and estranged daughter, Cassandra 'Cassie' Plummer, left the cobbles to get Cassie sober.

In upcoming scenes, Tyrone Dobbs leaves a message for Evelyn, letting her know it is the girls’ show today at the Bistro and they would love her support. Meanwhile, over at the precinct, Evelyn and Cassie move into a rented flat. However, despite getting the message, Evelyn admits she won't be going as she can't leave Cassie alone but the latter manages to persuade her mum to let her go outside to get a coffee as she's been clean for weeks.

Later, Evelyn panics as she notices that her purse is missing and she fears the worse for her daughter, worrying she has relapsed. Meanwhile, Cassie arrives at the Bistro, where Tyrone recognises her as Cath – unaware that she is secretly his mother, as he asks about Evelyn's whereabouts. Things soon go from bad to worse when a breathless Evelyn hurries into the Bistro, just in time to hear Cassie reveal to Tyrone that she is his mum. How will they all react to the bombshell and will Tyrone feel betrayed by Evelyn?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
