Lottie Moss has spoken out about going to rehab last year, admitting that the inpatient stint was what she "needed' to recover from a number of health issues.

The English model first took to social media in 2022 to tell fans she'd entered treatment at an Arizona facility for her struggles with substance abuse and mental illness. Moss, who is best known as the younger sister of Kate Moss, has now shared more details on her battle with addiction, which she explains came to a head after she left modelling aged 21 and was suddenly lost the structure of her strict work schedule.

"I always had to be a certain way, with a certain waist size and hip size," the 25-year-old told the Sun. Lottie goes on to reveal that she had her own personal trainer and attended nutrition meetings, and was also banned from dating "certain people" and even changing her hair without permission from her team.

"My life was very much controlled," she recalls, admitting that she would "pretend" to be happy despite "crying" before photoshoots. "I didn’t know how depressed I was, because I’d pushed it so far down and covered it up with substances and alcohol," Lottie continues. This despair only worsened when she resigned from the industry at the age of 23, leaving her at a loss of what direction to take in life.

"When you have that [control] from such a young age, you’re then like: ‘What the f**k do I do now?’ I was so lost and I started going down a really bad path and hanging out with some really bad people," she admitted.

The OnlyFans creator went on to share that her struggles escalated to the point that her best friend ended up confronting her on the matter. "I look back at that person and feel so sorry for her. It got to the point where my best friend said: ‘This is breaking my heart. You need help.’ I went to rehab, and it was what I needed.”

Lottie has now revealed she's "sober at the moment" and "in a very happy place", but refuses to put "too much pressure" on herself.

Last year, Lottie took to TikTok to address reports about her drug and alcohol addiction. In a short video, the British Vogue model says, "When people ask why I’m in rehab," and then lip-syncs to a person saying, "I have a really bad addiction to coke." She captioned the clip, 'Savage but true,' in what appeared to be confirmation of the speculation.

Lottie first acknowledged her issues in 2020 with a candid Instagram post, in which she detailed her struggle of 'years' with 'anxiety and other things.'

"Right now is the first time I have ever put myself first and actually worked on myself to make sure I get the best out of my life and am actually feeling like the best and truest version of myself!" she continued. "And I love her!"
