Emmerdale spoiler sees Dan say his village goodbyes as he makes final journey

Emmerdale fans will be left emotional next week as Dan Spencer says his goodbyes and makes his final village journey ahead of his prison sentencing.

Fans will recall that Dan recently landed himself in serious trouble with the law after he punched his daughter Amelia Spencer's online stalker, Lloyd, which resulted in the latter being left in a coma in a hospital with a serious head injury. Dan, who had been arrested and charged over the incident, headed to court where he pleaded guilty to the charges against him. However, what Dan didn't realise, is at the exact same time he pleaded guilty in court, Lloyd was pronounced dead in hospital. Dan is now facing a serious prison sentence for manslaughter.

In upcoming scenes, Dan arrives at The Woolpack for an early pint where he reveals to Chas Dingle that it's Lloyd’s funeral that day. After a heart-to-heart with Chas, Dan thinks about the best way to spend his last few days with his daughter. The next day, the Man Club surprise Dan at The Woolpack, where he admits he is terrified about prison and breaks down about leaving his daughter Amelia to which the group supports him.

With one day left in Emmerdale, Dan makes the most of his final moments with Amelia and Esther before his final day approaches. Things get emotional and real when Dan leaves the Woolpack for the very last time. Saying his sad goodbyes to the village, Dan makes his final journey. Later, Dan arrives in court and his solicitor reiterates he should receive a short sentence. Dan tries to brace himself for the outcome but fears the worse as the reality of killing someone hangs over him.

It comes as actor Liam Fox has opened up about his character Dan's "last few days in the village". Liam told press, including Mirror: "When I read the scripts, it was like: 'Wow, this is awesome.' He's kind of taking it all in and realising that he's going and getting support from other people in the village. There's some lovely stuff. Before he goes, he goes into the Woolpack and Man Club are there and really supporting him. It's really well written, really nice stuff. It made me cry a few times reading it, so yeah, very emotional, lovely stuff. I feel very lucky to get that sort of script around the story."

Liam went on to tease his character's prison sentence, he said: "He's scared about how long he's going to get. I think he's presuming he's going to get three years or something like that. He's got it in his head, you know, after 18 months he might be out and everything. But even so, can he cope with 18 months? Is that something Dan can get his head around? Whatever Dan does, when he comes out, if he comes out, he's going to be a different man. Somebody like Dan will not benefit from prison."
