Coronation Street ’s Chris Fountain confessed he’s worried he’ll have another stroke as he shared a update with fans one year after his terrifying health scare.

The 35-year-old actor, best known for playing Tommy Duckworth in the long-running ITV soap, was hospitalised last August when doctors discovered a blood clot on his brain, and diagnosed him with a Transient Ischaemic Attack (TIA).

After suffering the mini stroke, he has overhauled his life as he tried to come to terms with his condition, and told fans he feared “life as I knew it” was over when he was diagnosed. However, he’s proud of his incredible recovery, and wanted to share his progress 12 months after the incident.

“1 year ago today. Life can change in an instant, I've had to make a lot of changes but things have gotten so much better. Be as positive as you can be, live life to the full and do not give up, no matter how hard things get,” he captioned a shot of him last year in a hospital bed.

Chris also shared a short video of him reflecting on his progress, and said while he lived in fear of another stroke happening, he was focusing on the positives.

“It's kind of been a weird thing to wrap my head around. Part of me is worrying thinking 'am I going to have another one today',” he candidly shared.

“But then part of me is also super proud of how I've recovered. My speech is pretty much back to normal, I've run a marathon, I'm fit again,” Chris continued, as he thanked his fans and followers for their support over the “interesting year”.

“This time last year, I was staying in a hospital bed wondering what the hell is happening and here I am now feeling great,” he smiled.

Earlier this year, Chris completed the London Marathon to raise funds for the Stroke Association, and was overwhelmed with his incredible accomplishment, as he ran the 26 miles in under four hours just a few months after having a stroke.

“I DID IT!!!!!!! From having a stroke in August to running a sub 4 hour marathon. I am beyond proud of myself. THANKYOU to everyone who cheered, donated, ran with me and everything else in between. I’m so, so happy. Will never forget this feeling,” he wrote alongside a post in April announcing his marathon achievement.

Chris is now focusing on rebuilding his acting career after a series of setbacks, and said he’s “determined” not to let anyone stand in his way.

“Acting is all I have ever known. I have worked professionally as an actor since I was 14 and until someone tells me my acting ability is not up to standard I won’t give up on it,” he stated.
