Caitlyn Jenner 'thrilled' over son Brody becoming a dad amid parenting critique
Caitlyn Jenner is "thrilled" for her youngest son Brody Jenner and his fiancée over the birth of their first child, with it said that she's "always happy" when her children are.
It was announced earlier this week that Brody, 39, and his partner Tia Blanco, 26, welcomed their daughter Honey Jenner last month. The couple shared in a recent video on YouTube that the newborn baby was born on July 29.
During the video, Brody said that he wants to do the "exact opposite" to Caitlyn, 73, as a parent. He suggested that the former athlete had been absent at times in his life growing up, adding that he doesn't plan to be the same himself.
Approached for comment on the remarks, a spokesperson for Caitlyn told The Mirror on Saturday: "Caitlyn is thrilled for Brody and Tia." The spokesperson added: "Caitlyn is always happy when her kids are happy, as any parent would be."
Brody's remarks about Caitlyn were made in a voiceover that featured in the video that announced the birth of his first child. He said in the video: "I think that what I'm most excited about is doing things differently than my [parent] did."

[She] wasn't really around for me growing up. So I think that just being ... doing the exact opposite, being the absolute best [parent] I could possibly be and getting ready for the journey."
Brody said he was "so very excited" ahead of the birth, before adding: "Tia and I are just absolutely thrilled. She's gonna be the best mom. And hopefully I can just be the absolute best father, and be there for all these incredible events in her life." He added: "I just can't wait to meet her."
Caitlyn shares Brody and his brother Brandon Jenner, 42, with her ex-wife Linda Thompson, 73. Whilst the reality TV star shares her eldest two children Burt Jenner, 44, and Cassandra Marino, 43, with her ex-wife Chrystie Scott.
The youngest of Caitlyn's six children are Kendall Jenner, 27, and Kylie Jenner, 26, whom she shares with her ex-wife Kris Jenner, 67. They all appeared together on the E! show Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which ended in 2021.
Caitlyn spoke about having been absent from her four eldest children's lives in a 20/20 interview back in 2015. She said that her absence had been whilst she was struggling with her own identity, years prior to her transition.
She said in the interview: "The big formative years for them, I was really struggling with these issues." Caitlyn added: "I talked to all the boys about this after the fact, that, yeah, I didn't do a good job. And I apologised to my kids for that."
