Frankie Bridge says new job is '10 times scarier' than Strictly & The Saturdays
Frankie Bridge has told how making her acting debut was “ten times scarier” than performing with The Saturdays.
The pop star, 34, made her first appearance in spooky West End show 2:22 A Ghost Story last week. Frankie said: “How does 2:22 compare to The Saturdays or Strictly? Ten times scarier. “With TV, there might be millions watching but you can’t see them. You can’t hear them. “And with The Saturdays, that’s something I’ve done since I was 12. Weirdly, big arenas are also easier because you can’t see everywhere.
“It’s not exposing, while acting does feel exposing. “Just before my first performance, I was, like, ‘ Oh my God, what have I done?’ “But eventually I was, like, ‘This is happening whether you’re nervous or not, so you might as well enjoy it’. “I guess it’s just the performer in me. I’m hoping I come out of this loving it more than I already am.”
By taking on the role in the hit stage show, Loose Women star Frankie is following in the footsteps of Cheryl, Giovanna Fletcher and Lily Allen. And she admitted that even though she knows what’s coming next, the show still makes her jump.
“Two times in a row, I’ve genuinely screamed,” she said. “Even for me, being on stage, it makes me jump. “I do believe there is some - thing out there, and I do believe in mediums. I find them really comforting.”
Strictly's Molly Rainford and Tyler West fuel romance rumours while on tourFrankie also told how her husband of nine years, former footballer Wayne Bridge, had been really supportive of her latest career move. “He loved 2:22,” she said. “The day before [my debut], I was barely able to eat and he was, like, ‘You always work yourself up, and then you pull it out of the bag’. Then, after the show he was, like, ‘I knew you could do it’. He was really sweet.”
