Meghan Markle's ex pal weighs in on her future as she issues advice on charity

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been given some advice on their ongoing charity work by her 'former pal' Lizzie Cundy, who's encouraged them to do some privately.

Lizzie, 55 - who is said to have befriended Meghan, now 42, at a charity event back in 2013 - shared her thoughts on the couple in an interview recently. The socialite suggested that it's a "shame" that their charity work is often publicised.

The remark was made amid Meghan and Prince Harry, 38, having appeared in a video together last week. The video showed the pair announcing the inaugural recipients of the Responsible Technology Youth Power Fund grants.

Lizzie's comment was made prior to Prince Harry heading off on a solo trip to Singapore and Japan for his charity Sentebale. And ahead of him and Meghan visiting Germany together in September for this year's Invictus Games.

Speaking to the Daily Star last week, Lizzie said: "Look I'm gonna be honest with Meghan and Harry. Obviously, I knew Meghan before she got with Harry. I just think it's great they're doing their charity work, but I just think it's a bit of a shame to have to do it with the camera crew there."

The outlet reports that Lizzie branded their documentary series - seemingly the Netflix series Harry & Meghan, released last year - a "publicity stunt". She also urged them to do some good deeds without publicising them.

Lizzie continued: "Why are they doing it? And I just think maybe do some good stuff without the cameras there for a pat on the back. They haven't been seen together for a long time and I just think this is - shall I say - a publicity stunt, possibly?"

She added: "I think people know real things." She continued by sharing advice she had received herself once, saying: 'Be real because the audience can see through it'. And I just think now people have seen through Meghan."

The TV presenter - who's shared her thoughts on the couple on occasions in the past - has previously said that she became pals with Meghan after they bonded at a charity event in 2013. They however reportedly haven't spoken in years.
