Lioness Beth England is tipped to join the cast of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! - after finishing her current World Cup bid Down Under.

The 29-year-old plays as a forward for the England Women’s Team - and is also a star player for Tottenham Hotspur. She is currently part of the England squad hoping to find glory at the FIFA Women’s World Cup - which is ongoing in Australia.

Beth has been backed to join the cast of I’m A Celeb for the 2023 season by 36-year-old Jill Scott - who herself was a contestant on the 2022 season and was crowned Queen of the Jungle after winning the show. Jill thinks Beth has what it takes to follow in her footsteps and also star on the show.

Sharing her theory that ITV will offer her teammate a spot in the 23rd season of I’m A Celeb, Jill told the Reign podcast: “Beth England wants to do it. She really wants to do it. She would be good.”

But that’s not the only player Jill thinks would do well in the jungle. She continued: “I also think Georgia Stanway would be good in there – she would give her all. I’m putting those two forward.”

Jill says her own success came down to the life skills she learned on the pitch. She said: “I never thought I’d be equipped to live in a jungle. But tapping into that sports mentality . . . I remember getting in there and I counted 11 of us.

"I was like, right, this is a team of 11, where have you heard that before? This is my team, look after them. Our aim is not to get a medal, it’s to get food. If you can help in any way, do.

“Work hard, do the right things – that’s what sport teaches you. It equips you for so many different things.”

Jill appeared on the show last year alongside Hollyoaks star Owen Warner and former Health Secretary Matt Hancock - who she trumped in the finale.

Other contestants last year included rugby star Mike Tindall, comedian Seann Walsh, radio host Chris Moyles, actor Babatunde Aleshe, singer Boy George, soap star Sue Cleaver, TV presenter Scarlette Douglas, Loose Women star Charlene White and reality star Olivia Attwood.

ITV have confirmed that long-time hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly will return to Australia later this year to film the next series of the long-running show. And rumours are already flying over who the season 23 cast could be.

Corrie actor Alan Halsall, This Morning host Josie Gibson, rugby star Danny Cipriani and former Prime Minister Liz Truss are among the names being touted. While season 22 star Olivia Attwood is also among the names being suggested - as she was forced to quit last year after mere hours due to a health issue.
