Tom Brady and Kyle Shanahan in agreement on "unbelievable" Jimmy Garoppolo
NFL stalwarts Tom Brady and Kyle Shanahan are both in agreement when it comes to the talents of Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.
In the off-season, Garoppolo was brought in by the Raiders, replacing Derek Carr who was released after nine years with the franchise. On the back of Carr's departure and Garoppolo arrival, many were left slightly unimpressed with the Raiders' business.
These concerns will no doubt have been eased though, after the 31-year-old earned the praises of San Francisco 49er s head coach Shanahan, who coached Garoppolo during his time with the Niners.
Heading into the upcoming campaign, Shanahan said: "Jimmy was unbelievable here. I think he was the best quarterback here in about 20 years since Steve Young. Every time he played and stayed healthy, we were either in the Super Bowl or NFC Championship Game.”
Shanahan's comments came as the San Francisco franchise and the Raiders took part in joint practice, reuniting the quarterback with his former team. The Niners coach echoed the thoughts of the great Brady, who also joined Garoppolo at one of his former teams.

Knowing Garoppolo well, Brady spoke highly of his ex-teammate previously.
Brady previously said on Garoppolo: "He's earned the trust of his teammates and the respect of his teammates and that's all you can ask for as a player."
Hailing the 31-year-old's efforts in a Niners jersey, he went on: "Jimmy’s done well since he got to the Niners. He has brought them to the Super Bowl, and he has just done an amazing job.
"I think anytime you deal with the adversity that he has dealt with, he had a major shoulder injury, he had a thumb injury in the playoffs last year. Then all he hears is that he is gonna get traded. Next thing you know, he is the starting quarterback for the same team.
"And I think he has handled this situation extremely well. Handled it with a lot of dignity, with a lot of grace. And he has gone out there and helped the team win games."
Shanahan and Brady have both shared the same praise for what Garropolo achieved for the 49ers. Now the Raiders will hope to see similar success in Las Vegas.
