Pop star Lizzo has reportedly been dropped from the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show consideration as the famous singer is being sued by three of her former dancers for alleged sexual harassment and weight-shaming.

An NFL insider told the Daily Mail that after the backlash the 35-year-old singer has received due to these controversial allegations, the organisation has decided to drop Lizzo as a runner for the famous spectacle as she was previously one of the top-runners for one of the most iconic performances of the year.

The insider told the news outlet: "Talks of Lizzo being a part of the Halftime festivities, or performing the National Anthem, are dead now that she is surrounded by scandal," they continued: "It is becoming more and more difficult with more people coming forth accusing her of extremely inappropriate acts."

The Super Bowl Halftime Show is one of the most prestigious performances a singer can experience and would've been a monumental moment for Lizzo's career. Last year, R&B singer Rihanna performed the halftime show which averaged 113million viewers with over 40 percent of households watching the NFL game.

The NFL source continued that although Lizzo has become one of the most well-known names in the music industry, her time in the limelight might be up as the celeb is caught in a Catch 22 situation. The insider explained: "Lizzo has raked in a massive amount of money but her minute is pretty much up it seems and no one knows if she will be able to recover from this," they added: "If she speaks out, her statements are shredded. If she stays quiet, she is called a coward. Either way, it does not appear at this moment that she can recover from this."

A second source chimed in and shared their thoughts on the Truth Hurts singer saying that they too believe her team is struggling to save the singer and said that they are "desperately trying come up with a strategy to save her sinking ship".

This announcement comes amid Lizzo being sued over hostile work environment allegations by three of her dancers, and six more former employees submitted complaints against Lizzo this week. The original complaints included weight shaming and sexual harassment allegations, which Lizzo has vehemently denied. The new claims that have recently come forward include similar accusations saying that while working for the singer they experienced a "sexually charged environment" and "failure to pay employees".
