A notorious TikTok star has denied having anything to do with the chaos on Oxford Street after a swarm of youths clashed with police yesterday.

Violence erupted between hundreds of teenagers and police on Wednesday provoked by encouraging youngsters to loot stores.

Shocking pictures show hundreds of people gathered on the busy street, swinging punches at officers. Several stores in the central London street pulled down their shutters shortly before the mob was due to descend at 3pm, trapping shoppers inside, to avoid the planned violence

Nine arrests have so far been made by the Metropolitan Police as Home Secretary Suella Braverman demanded the ringleaders be made an example of.

Today infamous TikToker Mizzy said he had nothing to do with the violence, even though he was filmed being stopped by police at the scene.

Mizzy, whose real name is Bacari-Bronze O'Garro, told the Daily Star : "I wasn’t involved at all. I was going to the cinema with my friends and I got stopped and searched due to them thinking I was under the influence of drugs, which I was but it was my medication for the section 2 I was under.

"So I got searched then they dispersed me due to that whole Oxford Circus situation, and me being there would have probably caused more public uproar and anti-social behaviour. But the event wasn’t mine, it was just going around on TikTok as a meet up with Tiktokers attending. I wasn’t involved at all. It was a horrible mess, unorganised and sloppy. Police getting beaten up and people stealing from shops isn’t any sort of 'fun'."

He also encouraged people to stop judging him on his past, adding: "Stop trying to affiliate my name to bad things just because I used to do bad things in the past. Past, present and future is what you make of it and you guys keep trying to make my past my future."

Yesterday nearby underground stations at Goodge Street and Warren Street were temporarily closed due to a request from the police as the incident unfolded. A woman with a pram was knocked to the ground as the commotion continued into the evening, with officers holding batons outside a McDonald's.

Earlier footage showed large groups of teenagers running across Oxford Street and plenty of police officers at the scene. One person tweeted: “Avoid Oxford Circus station if you can. Chaos and confusion as lots of young kids march around.”

Last night the said in a statement: "Throughout Wednesday (9 August) officers maintained a high visibility presence within the Oxford Street area. As of 8.15pm officers have issued 34 people with dispersal orders and made nine arrests. Four people were arrested on suspicion of breaching the dispersal order, one person was arrested on suspicion of going equipped to steal, one person arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer and one person was arrested on suspicion of public order offence."
