Megan Fox announces career change away from acting after 22 years in showbiz
Megan Fox has announced a new project away from acting, with her fiancé Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) having shared his pride after the news was shared with fans recently.
The actor, 37, took to Instagram a few days ago to unveil her latest project. She revealed to her followers on the platform that she's written a series of poems. The collection, Pretty Boys Are Poisonous, is set to be published later this year.
It's believed to be her literary debut and Megan shared that the collection will be released in November. It's been teased that the poetry is "heartbreaking and dark," though the publisher has said it also showcases her "wicked humour".
When she announced the project, Megan unveiled the book cover. It features a pair of lips, intertwined with imagery of a snake, alongside the title. She said in the caption of her post: "I wrote a book. Pre-order now [...] Out November 7th."
Her post also included a description, that read: "These poems were written in an attempt to excise the illness that had taken root in me because of my silence. I've spent my entire life keeping the secrets of men, my body aches from carrying the weight of their sins.
Megan Fox braves Grammys with Machine Gun Kelly with broken wrist and concussion"My freedom lives in these pages and I hope that my words can inspire others to take back their happiness and their identity by using their voice to illuminate what's been buried, but not forgotten, in the darkness."
Its publisher Simon & Schuster said: "[Megan] showcases her wicked humor throughout a heartbreaking and dark collection of poetry. Over the course of more than seventy poems Fox chronicles all the ways in which we fit ourselves into the shape of the ones we love, even if it means losing ourselves in the process."
Megan's post has received more than 300,000 likes on the platform since it was uploaded earlier this week. It was liked by fellow celebrities Lily James, Lauren Jauregui and Bimini. The post attracted reaction in the comments.
This included a response from Megan's partner MGK. The musician - whose real name is Colson Baker - wrote in the comments section of her post: "Proud of you." He included a fire emoji in his comment on the platform.
