Aaron Carter's twin hasn't spoken to mum since 'invasion of privacy' photos

Aaron Carter's twin sister, Angel Carter, stopped talking to their mother, Jane Carter after she released photos of her late son's death scene.

In March, Jane released photos that included a bathtub full of green water and photos of soiled clothes and towels on the floor that were supposedly of the area where Aaron died four months prior. She claimed it was because she wanted the police to open an investigation into his untimely death. The singer was found dead in his California home in November 2022.

"Aaron had a lot of death threats and many, many people who were making his life miserable," she said when she released the photos. However, investigators ruled the death accidental and said he died from drowning in his bathtub and the effects of Xanax.

Jane might have had good intentions for releasing the photos, but Angel isn't so sure she could forgive her mother. She hasn't talked to her since March. "It was a true invasion of privacy and something that Aaron would've never wanted the public to see," Angel said to People in an exclusive interview.

There might be other factors as to why the mother and daughter don't talk. Angel has claimed that she and her siblings had a childhood "filled with emotional abuse, dysfunction, and addiction." Angel is one of five siblings, Aaron, Nick, and two sisters Bobbie Jean and Leslie. Aaron wasn't the only musical family member. Nick is a member of the Backstreet Boys, and Leslie was a singer before she accidentally overdosed in 2012.

In May, Jane was charged with battery as she allegedly got into a fight with her husband over the volume of their television. There's no word on how Jane feels about her daughter not talking to her.

Angel also told People that she was devastated after Aaron's death. "Something positive has to come from all this. I refuse to allow Aaron to have died in vain," Angel said, "I want Aaron's legacy to be more than those final years of his life."

Aaron rose to popularity as a young teen, with his first album being released when he was ten years old. He opened for his brother's band the Backstreet Boys and also for Britney Spears. He acted in various television shows such as Lizzie McGuire. Later in life he sought treatment for his drug addiction and revealed in 2019 that he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.
