Ferne McCann thinks we've been eating pears wrong all our lives as she showed the 'correct' way of consuming one.
The TOWIE star 32, who has just given birth to her daughter Finty, took to Instagram with her discovery, which she urged her fans to consider. Holding a pear up to the camera, sporting a Van Cleef & Arples necklace, she said: “Let me teach you how to eat a pear. We have been getting it wrong for such a long time.”
Admitting she'd only just learned the 'right way' of eating the fruit, Ferne continued: "Instead of eating a pear like an apple and eating around the core you actually just bite the top off (the stem) and eat the rest of the pair. There will be a core in the middle with seeds that you can simply eat around. A pear. You do not eat like an apple. Mind blown. Literally.”

The mum-of-two said her mind was 'blown' by the discovery (Instagram)Ferne's fruit guidelines, which racked up almost 700,000 views on TikTok, went down a storm with her followers, with many admitting they too had no idea how to eat a pear correctly. One said: "34 and I only learn this today whattt. Yes Ferne, I'm going to buy some later just for this haha, love a good fruit salad on days. "Another shared “I always kinda ate around as if I was some kinda core like an apple only 24 years old how I’ve got it wrong.” A third mused: "Wow unbelievable" while a fourth confessed: “God I always peeled the pair and cut it up.”
While most of Ferne's followers were wowed by the discovery, there were some who reckoned they've always eaten pears the '"normal way". One said: “Always eaten mine like that.” While another shared: “I'm so confused. isn't that the normal way?"

Ferne is settling into motherhood again after giving birth to her daughter, Finty, last month. The reality star, who is also mum to daughter, Sunday, four, shares the tot with fiancé Lorri Haines. Opening about their baby's unusual moniker, the First Time Mum star told OK! magazine: "It was on my name list when I gave birth to Sunday. I don’t know where I got it from, but when I typed it in [on Google] I saw Judi Dench’s daughter’s nickname is Finty. I’ve always loved it and never heard it anywhere else before. I just feel so connected to the name – she came out and she was just Finty. I think she sounds like a character out of Bridgerton.”
