Emmerdale star confirms exit from ITV soap as she takes break from show
Emmerdale star Rosie Bentham has seemingly confirmed she will be taking a break from the ITV soap.
Rosie has played Gabby on the ITV soap for a number of years. Her character has been at the centre of some huge storylines, and most recently was left devastated after she discovered her fiancé Nicky was gay and using her to get an in at Home Farm. Last week, Gabby – still struggling with Nicky's admission – leant in to kiss Dawn's husband Billy, leaving him horrified. Explaining why her character did that, Rosie admits it is a catalyst for what Gabby does next.
"It was a moment of madness that she comes to regret. She’s seeking validation from any man. She’s completely lost; I just picture Gabby waking up in the morning and feeling like her life is chaos. Obviously, there’s the anniversary of Liv Dingle’s death on the horizon, and that’s difficult for Gabby, as Liv was her best mate," she told Inside Soap magazine.
Seemingly confirming Gabby would be leaving the Dales for a short while, Rosie is hopeful things will be different for her character when she makes her return, before teasing more chaos ahead.
Gabby tried to kiss Billy last week (ITV)Speaking of what's to come, she shared: "She needs to reset. Heartbreak can be long and tedious but she knows that she needs to get it all out. The tears need to come. Hopefully she’ll come back with a different head on with regards to the Nicky situation," but it looks like it won't be plain sailing as Rosie added: "Gabby has a lot on her plate and the next few months are chaotic."

Fans are convinced Gabby might use her pass at Billy in some bid to get at Dawn, saying she "can't be trusted".
"He ought to tell Dawn the truth...before Gabby turns it around one day and claims he hit on her. She can't be trusted # Emmerdale," one viewer wrote whilst a second added: "Of course she was going to make a move, he rejected her so she’s going to be typical Gabby and tell dawn he made a move on her just to cause a bit of trouble #emmerdale."
