Frequent flyers will come across many different types of passengers on their travels, and some can be a lot worse than others.

Whether you encounter a seat swapper or an armrest hogger, pesky passengers can dampen those holiday highs.

A survey by Only Wanderlust revealed that the number one thing jet-setters do which annoys their fellow flyers is kick the seat in front of them.

In second place is passengers who smell bad, while people who talk too loudly were labelled the third most annoying.

With the holiday season soon approaching, social media users have taken to Reddit to share their frustrating plane stories.

After paying additional for extra legroom, one man refused to move seats for an elderly couple who tried claiming the seats for their own.

On the 12-hour flight from New Zealand to LA, the elderly couple sat in his seats because the ones they booked ‘had no leg room’.

The couple eventually moved after a flight attendant instructed them to, but the man admitted to receiving evil glares from other passengers.

Another user shared their experience of being sat behind an entitled passenger during an 11-hour flight.

The 19-year-old explained how the traveller was talking loudly the entire journey, and despite being asked, refused to be quiet.

“Not only did he laugh and scream the entire time, but he also wouldn't stop moving. He'd bounce on his seat, stretch his arms and legs, and just generally flail his limbs around,” she vented.

“And he would constantly move on and off his side, and his elbow would dig into my knees every time he did.”

A third flyer admitted to kicking the chair of a woman who stole his pre-booked seat and refused to get up when he pointed it out.

According to the bloke, he'd been heading across the US, from Florida to California, to pay his best friend a visit, and had a ticket for aisle seat 23C.

He hadn't however banked on there being competition for his already bought and paid for seat, and was surprised to find a 'twentysomething woman' had already bagged his spot.

After showing her the ticket and politely explaining that she was 'probably in the wrong seat', the woman simply rolled her eyes and admitted she should be in the seat directly behind but refused to move because ‘she was comfortable’.

Sitting himself down in the vacant seat behind her, the irritated passenger kicked her seat every two minutes in revenge.

He added: “Every time the seat belt sign went off I'd get up, grabbing the top of the seat to lift myself up pulling her seat back and forth and one time (accidental but worth it) pulled her hair she put over the back of the seat.”
