Lizzo is said to be ‘disappointed’ that her A List pals haven’t rallied around her with public messages of support as she battles accusations she sexually harassed her own back up dancers.

In the past week, the 35-year-old chart topping star has become engulfed by serious accusations about her professional and personal conduct. A trio of former back-up dancers have stepped forward to accuse the About Damn Time singer of sexual, religious and racial harassment, disability discrimination, assault, false imprisonment, creating a hostile work environment, and weight-shaming - and launching a lawsuit in the process.

More flames were added to the fire the following day when another back-up dancer and a former creative director of the star took to social media to back the three complainants, and declare the accusations were “very much my experience”.

Lizzo has denied the accusations - but is said to be distressed that her famous friends, like Harry Styles and Adele, have not spoken out to support her. A source told The Sun on Sunday: “[Lizzo] is aware these are potentially career-ending allegations but has been really disappointed by the lack of public support from her friends inside the industry.

“Lizzo is especially close with Harry Styles, Adele, Rihanna and Shawn Mendes. She was really looking for them to come out and speak publicly or through their social media channels — but sadly for her, that hasn’t happened.”

The source went on to claim that Lizzo’s A-List pals have contacted her directly, but that their management has advised them against speaking out in support of the American singer.

Lizzo has previously rejected the allegations made against her. She said in a statement: “I am not here to be looked at as a victim, but I also know that I am not the villain that people and the media have portrayed me to be these last few days.

“My work ethic, morals and respectfulness have been questioned. Usually I choose not to respond to false allegations but these are as unbelievable as they sound and too outrageous to not be addressed.”

She was accused by her backing dancers of pressuring them to touch the breasts of a naked performer at an Amsterdam sex club while on tour in February.

Following the accusations, Lizzo appeared to lose the support of American superstar Beyonce, who name checked her in a remix of her song Break My Soul. The megastar removed Lizzo’s name from a performance in Boston, Massachusetts on Tuesday night, to repeat Erykah Badu's name, rather than Lizzo's.
