Adele collects light-up miniature Christmas villages, she revealed

Christmas may be months away, but Rumour Has It Adele is a big fan of the festive season.

And the superstar singer, 35, has found a new hobby that spreads cheer throughout the year – collecting light-up miniature Christmas villages. Her lightbulb moment came when she spotted the collectables, which are sold at US store Department 56 on eBay.

But the star’s addiction may not be such a bright idea. She now has so many of the mini villages – which cost £30 to £90 each – that she is running out of sockets to plug them in at her Los Angeles mansion.

Adele told fans at her Las Vegas residency: “You’re going to think I’m an old woman. I went on eBay and suddenly discovered light-up miniature Christmas villages. I went a bit crazy. I’ve spent a lot of money.”

The singer told how she has bought the Snow Village, which is home to record stores and a McDonald’s restaurant, as well as Christmas in the City.

But she added: “Then I found a Dickens one with loads of London landmarks. I got a bit addicted… really, my main goal is to figure out some kind of socket situation to plug in all the wires.”

Adele returned to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Friday after a month-long break from her residency. But the mum-of-one, who is engaged to sports agent Rich Paul, found the time off disconcerting. She said: “When I’m on a break, I’m all over the place. I’ve no idea what time it is, what’s going on, what f***ing day it is.” Well, Adele… it can’t always be Christmas, no matter how hard you try.
