Stormzy’s milestone 30th birthday is the gift that keeps on giving.

We can reveal the rapper is set to collaborate with superstar DJ Calvin Harris after the pair hit it off during his warm-up celebrations in Ibiza. Stormzy jetted to the White Isle with his pals in July and made a beeline for the Scottish hitmaker – DJing at celeb destination club, Ushuaia.

A source says: “Stormzy’s admired Calvin for a long time. Both are huge fans of the dance capital, with Stormzy previously holding his #MerkyFestival at Ibiza Rocks. Stormzy’s been surprising everyone by dropping songs on almost a weekly basis.

“But so far, he hasn’t made it to the top spot with his collaborators. Ibiza is the perfect setting to let their creative juices come together. They’ll work on a project next time he’s there.”

While all three of Stormzy’s albums have shot straight to the top spot in the Official Charts, he has had just three No.1 singles, compared to Calvin’s 11. Miracle, the DJ’s collaboration with Ellie Goulding, spent eight weeks at the top after its release in March. But Stormzy’s recent collabs with Fredo, on Toxic Trait, and Raye, on The Weekend, peaked at No.11 and No.23 respectively.

The rapper – whose birthday celebrations continued into last week with his big event, The Mike Gala – was not the only star partying with Calvin. The DJ’s Ibiza residency has drawn a flood of footballers letting their hair down.

Speaking to MistaJam on Capital Dance this week, Calvin, 39, said that while last year he saw “a lot of actors”, this year he’s attracted an “unbelievable amount of footballers”. He said: “In the three weeks off they got – the longest season ever – there was one week we had Marcus Rashford, Jack Grealish, Virgil van Dijk, Kevin De Bruyne and Nathan Ake all in the same vicinity. As a fan of football… I was buzzing.”

Calvin added: “I’ve got Ally McCoist in a couple of weeks. I prefer the retired footballers – they’re more my age.” His record of chart hits prove age is really not the number that matters…
