After being hurled angrily into a crowd by Cardi B, a microphone was put on sale via auction to raise money for charity. It has now been revealed that the microphone sold for a whopping $100,000 (£78,500).

The owner of the company that did the audio support at the show, Scott Fisher, put the microphone up for auction on eBay. The description on the listing read: "Auctioned for charity. If you want a piece of hip hop infamy and what has now become national and world news then please bid whatever you are willing to spend."

The whole fiasco happened at Cardi's show at Drai's Beachclub in Las Vegas. When a woman splashed Cardi with water, she responded by throwing the microphone at her. Later, the woman ended up reporting the incident to the police.

The woman hit by the microphone was approached by security and, in a video, appears to be escorted away from the stage after pleading with Cardi, "I'm sorry". She later reported a battery at a local police station, which was confirmed by Las Vegas police. However, it has been confirmed that Cardi will not face criminal charges. As for the sound crew, the owner of the company's initial reaction was concern about getting the microphone replaced or fixed, he told Insider.

They were able to verify the microphone correctly because it was labeled as the 'main' one. The listing said: "We provided more than one microphone for this particular show and verified with the in house crew which one was specifically used by Cardi for the show."

Later, Scott decided to sell the microphone to raise money for The Wounded Warrior project, in honour of some of his Veteran family members, and The Friendship Circle. After recouping the $1,000 cost of the mic, he'll send the rest of the money to the charities.

He told Insider: "It's been ridiculously insane. As long as somebody actually pays for it, some people are going to benefit, hopefully, from the money."

The original listing was only for $500 (£393) which wouldn't have even been enough to cover the cost of the damaged equipment. Now, fans have taken it to a new level and the bidding number only continues to go up.
