Cardi B and her collaborators have had photos removed from their Instagram accounts by Meta following breaches of copyright.

The American rapper, 30, has been in a legal dispute with Italian artist AleXsandro Palombo since November last year after the Bodak Yellow hitmaker "illegitimately appropriated" his 'Marge Simpson Style Icon' work.

Palombo created the artwork in 2013, with the intention of transforming The Simpsons character Marge, a mother and desperate housewife, into a style icon - as described by the artist as a 'work of reflection on women's emancipation and gender equality'.

Palombo's lawyer Claudio Volpi said in a statement released to Mirror: "This is an event of fundamental importance in the process of legal and factual protection of the works of authors and artists, whose creations are frequently used by subjects who believe they enjoy a state of impunity due to their fame, wealth and power."

However, Cardi B irked the Neo Pop artist when she reinterpreted Palombo's original artwork which was inspired by an iconic Thierry Mugler dress from 1995 and shared the images on her Instagram account, which has over 150 million followers, without adding the Italian's credits or the author.

Photographer Jora Frantzis and artistic director Kollin Carter also followed suit by posting Palombo's credit, with all three violating the conditions of use on the copyright of the Meta community.

Palombo began legal proceedings against the WAP rapper in November 2022 but Meta finally intervened on Thursday by removing the images from Cardi B's page and deleting the posts from Frantzis and Carter's accounts.

Following Meta's actions, Palombo said: "Cardi B and her collaborators have used my artwork without any authorisation, debasing its original meaning and only to amplify their image with a clear commercial purpose that has nothing to do with that path of social awareness that has always characterised my works."

In December, the New York born rapper revealed that she wants more children with Migos musician husband Offset.

The mum-of-two hopes to add to her family made up of her daughter Kulture, four, and son Wave, fifteen months, as well as herself and her husband Offset – real name Kiari Kendrell Cephus.

Taking to Twitter, she said: "I want a big family. When I was pregnant, I always used to say, 'Oh, I'm just gonna have my baby with me all day, and I'm going to get a nanny'."

Cardi added: "And then, you know, once your baby gets here, you're scared to get a nanny because you don't want anybody around them."
