Harry Potter star Jamie Waylett's life away from spotlight after prison stint
Harry Potter fans were confused when Victor Crabbe disappeared from the side of Draco Malfoy in the hugely popular film franchise. Actor Jamie Waylett was let go from the films due to his illegal activity. Now, everything has changed for Jamie after being released.
His absence in the movie was the result of a 2009 bust for growing cannabis in his house. That wasn't his only run in with the law, though - Jamie spent two years in prison for violent disorder in the 2012 London riots. Now a free man, he's given fans a glimpse into his life on the interactive platform Cameo. Here's what's new.
Jamie isn't really taking on new acting gigs. The last time anyone saw him on the big screen was in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. If he was in a movie, though, fans may not even recognise him since he has a new look.
Now, above his eyebrow, he has little stars tattooed. Plus, rather than the smooth babyface in the movies, he has a full beard. Fans are interacting with Jamie on Cameo now where he doesn't shy away from his Harry Potter heritage. "Slytherin for life," he declared in one of the messages to a fan. His fans seem to be thrilled with his messages, leaving him glowing reviews.
One wrote: "I've been having great fun at Cameo this passed year. Received some great responses, though one of my most favourites gotta be from Jamie Waylett. Seems like such an incredibly great and kind guy. He played Vincent Crabbe in Harry Potter."
Hogwarts Legacy introduces trans character but fans quickly spot issue with nameFans may wonder what's up with the rest of the iconic Slytherin trio. Well, the actor who plays Goyle, Josh Herdman, is still in the acting scene. While his role in Harry Potter still remains what he's best known for, he's popped up in a variety of movies and shows including The Man Who Fell to Earth.
As for the leader of the pack, Tom Felton, he released a book detailing his time in the movie. In the autobiography, he covers what it was like growing up as a child star and in the Wizarding World.
