Cheaper By the Dozen child star unrecognisable after quitting acting
Child actress Morgan York who rose to fame in Hollywood after her performance in the Cheaper By the Dozen film looks completely unrecognisable now after quitting acting to pursue a brand new career as a novelist.
The former child actress starred as the beloved twin Kim Baker in the Cheaper By the Dozen film franchise starring alongside actor Steve Martin. In the films, Kim was the family's clever ninth child who would frequently play pranks on her twin sister Jessica. She and her sister were witty young children that were often told to stop correcting their teacher in front of the other students.
York was also known for her role as the kind-hearted but competitive Sarah in the hit Disney channel series Hannah Montana. Sarah was one of the many classmates and friends with Miley, Lilly, and Oliver on the show. Her character was referred to as "Saint Sarah" behind her back because she was known for doing many good deeds, including giving money to charity, donating to the blood bank, reading to the blind, and more. Sarah had a crush on Miley's brother Jackson, who was not interested and was actually trying to set her up with his friend.
But after her few appearances, Morgan quit acting at the age of 17 to focus on a career as an author. Now Morgan is a 30-year-old successful writer and podcaster. According to Morgan's website, she is also the founder of Bad Address Media, an entertainment company that specialises in genre fiction podcasts. In addition to this, she is also a creator on multiple shows including the Halfmoon Chronicles, for which she writes scripts and does the voice of character Tabby Winters.
Morgan's writing mainly focuses on the young adult fantasy genre, but she has also dabbled in contemporary and realistic fiction. Today she works full-time in book publishing and Twitches as a hobby. Morgan gave audiences a taste of her thrilling unpublished young adult fantasy novel 'The Hollow Between' on her website.
Former child star admits she is 'unemployed' after nearly 20 years off DisneyWhen asked by her followers why she stopped acting, Morgan responded with a TikTok video saying: "I never expected it to be a lifetime thing. I can even remember as a kid trying to imagine myself as an adult actor and just not seeing it," she added: "I think I also wildly underestimated how much of an uproar would be made over it. I thought I could just leave and nobody would ask me for the next eleven years of my life."
She continued that she stopped acting because she felt the cons outweighed the pros. Morgan reflected on her time on screen saying: "My passion for acting did not outweigh all the costs like all the time you have to spend away from loved ones, on sets, and the constant scrutiny from people watching you."
