UFC legend Nate Diaz was up to his old tricks at the open workouts for his fight against Jake Paul.

Diaz, 38, makes his professional boxing debut on Saturday against YouTube star Paul in Dallas, Texas. The open workouts for the fight took place on Wednesday afternoon and to nobody's surprise, Diaz didn't go about things conventionally. He appeared in the ring with a massive entourage and did the least amount of shadowboxing possible before entertaining the crowd.

Fans had the pleasure of asking Diaz questions instead of watching him hit pads, with the UFC legend repeatedly being asked what round he thinks the fight will end in. One fan spiced things up by saying: "Nate, how bad are you going to beat that motherf*****'s a**?" to which he responded: "The plan is to beat his a**, we'll see what happens."

Another fan then asked: "Nate, who do you plan to fight after this fight?" Diaz didn't give much of a response by simply saying: "We'll see what happens, I don't know. We're going to get done with this fight and we'll see who's next." After a series of dull questions, one fan questioned Diaz over his weed smoking habits by saying: "Yo Nate, where's the blunts?"

Diaz played innocent in his reply to the fan by jokingly asking: "Yo everybody, where's the blunts at?" The 38-year-old broke into laughter when a female in the crowd asked for his t-shirt, with Diaz insisting the one he was wearing was his only one to hand. One young fan asked for Diaz to marry his mum, which prompted him to reply: "Where she at?"

The questions then stopped as Diaz spent the rest of his open workout time signing autographs for fans. Paul got in the ring shortly after his rival and did hit pads for a couple of minutes before addressing the media. Diaz has been criticised for not promoting the fight as he walked out of the launch press conference in May and the face-to-face interview earlier this week, but he feels the fight doesn't need to be promoted as much as people are making out.

"Sometimes less is more I believe," Diaz said of the pre-fight build-up. "I'm just going with the week, that's usually how I do it anyway. If we're talking about promoting fights, I've been in some of the biggest fights there's been at all so just let me do me and you do you."
