Death In Paradise star Ralf Little has addressed rumours Neville Parker is heading back to prison.

In shock scenes in the last series, Neville - played by Ralf in the BBC detective drama - found himself put in jail after his team were convinced he had murdered a true crime author. However, he was later released after it was revealed that his 'girlfriend' had been posing as someone else and was actually fitting him up for the crime she committed in revenge.

In new behind the scenes videos, Ralf shared a post with his social media followers where he was sat in the prison whilst he joked with a crew member about her on-set snack. It prompted worried fans to ask why Neville was back in prison.

One fan wrote: "You’re in jail again?? I got so confused watching an old DIP yesterday and you were playing someone else, I had to rewind to check I wasn’t going mad!" whilst another added: "Why are you in the cell please??"

However, Ralf later took to social media to squash the rumours and insist he wasn't back in jail, as he revealed why he was relaxing there between takes, settling the minds of all the panicked fans.

Taking to Instagram, he shared: "There was a lot of speculation saying 'why is Neville in a cell, could this be a spoiler'. Let me explain. This is where the cast normally sit [outside the police station]. We sit here between scenes with fans to try and keep us cool and stop the sweat so make up doesn't have a terrible time. Through here is the police station and then through here are the cells.

"A couple of years ago, I realised the cells are right next to the station where we shoot and it's much cooler, and there's a bed. Honestly, it's a bit - I don't know what lives in it. But when we're shooting in the police station, this is my little spot."

Fans are eagerly anticipating the new series after Ralf signed up for more episodes and Christmas specials. Lindsay Salt, Director of BBC Drama said: "With its sparkling blend of mystery, humour and heart, Death In Paradise continues to delight the millions of us who make the return trip to Saint Marie with every sun-drenched episode. It is a programme that goes from strength to strength, and I could not be happier that it will return for another two series and specials on BBC One and iPlayer."
