Love Island might have finished, but with Big Brother back in a matter of weeks ITV2 will soon be screening nightly episodes of reality TV for 22 weeks of the year.

Last night the villa winners of the hit summer series of Love Island were announced by host Maya Jama just four months after the winter series had ended. During an ad break, ITV bosses teased the reboot of Big Brother, set to return as early as September.

The series, which will be fronted by AJ Odudu and Will Best, is scheduled to run for six weeks. AJ will also present a panel show spin-off for the channel, similar to Love Island’s Aftersun. Last night, as viewers voted for their favourite couple, the Islanders declared their love for one another.

Ella Thomas told boyfriend Tyrique Hyde: “From the boy I met on day one to the man you are today, I’ve seen you change and grow so much – just for me.” Tyrique, who certainly went through a character arc on the series, told her: “You’ve shown me it’s cool to open up about my emotions and it’s cool to be vulnerable. And being in love is the best feeling ever.”

Fan favourite Whitney Adebayo told her exclusive partner Lochan Nowacki: “You ask me if I am happy every day. You kiss my forehead when you think I’m asleep and you tell me I look beautiful every chance you get. You’re exactly what I’ve been looking for.” Next year’s winter series will be replaced with an All Star version featuring Islanders from previous UK and Australian series.
