An investigation into a missing mum took a sinister turn when police discovered her burnt out 4X4.

Imani Roberson, from Georgia, was last seen on July 16 along Plantation Blvd. in Conyers in her white Mazda SUV. The 30-year-old had been visiting her mother. Both women lived nearby, and Roberson had reportedly planned to return home to collect a few belongings as she moved in with her mother.

Now, Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office confirmed a car matching the description of Roberson's vehicle has been discovered burned from the inside out. Her father, Ronald Acklin, said he was 'deeply concerned' about her sudden disappearance - especially considering that she had recently given birth to her youngest child.

Police are said to be now focussing their investigation on the City Central apartments in southwest Atlanta, reports Vizara. Video footage captured by a neighbour’s Ring doorbell camera in the area reportedly captures the sound of a loud blast before a car matching Roberson's backing out of a driveway.

Although grainy, the footage contains audio that has convinced Roberson’s father of foul play. Shortly after an insect flies across the camera’s view, a loud noise is heard, prompting Acklin to believe it was a gunshot. Police confirmed the Imani was not with or near the vehicle and the search for her continues.
