Daredevil's four word reply to warning before he plummeted to his death

A daredevil who died plummeting off a skyscraper in Hong Kong gave a four-word reply after being warned about the dangers of his hobby just weeks ago.

Remi Lucidi was last seen on Thursday by a building worker frantically knocking on the window of a penthouse on the 68th floor of the 721ft Tregunter Tower, according to the South China Morning Post [SCMP]. By the time police arrived, the Frenchman had plummeted to his death and officers found his camera.

Remi, also known as "Remi Enigma", who described himself on social media as a Hong Kong-based photographer, had climbed tall buildings across the world while posing for photos many times. In one post from May, one commenter, Domenic Morace, predicted his death and said: "You will tell God why you risked your precious and only life for this." To which he cockily replied with a sarcastic comment: "Thanks for the tip [heart emoji]". On the same post, many people are now commenting "RIP."

A security guard at the building had attempted to stop Lucidi, who claimed to be visiting a pal on the 40th floor, but the extreme sports fan managed to make his way higher up the building, according to Hong Kong officials. Security footage shows the man on the 49th floor and taking the stairs up to the top of the building before forcing open the door to the rooftop.

The daredevil had been staying in a hostel in the city, the hostel owner, told the SCMP, adding that he had been “friendly and humble. She said: "I feel very sad." One person wrote under his most recent picture of Hong Kong: "Bro went out doing what he loved! He lived his life fully. Not many can say that."

The "friendly and humble guy" had a large Instagram following where he showcased his exploits. One worker who claimed to speak to Lucidi said: "He told me he was going to hike a mountain when I asked where he was going. He said he wanted to hike a lot when he was here."

A third person said: "My deepest condolences. Your friends brought me here, even though I didn't know you. To hear this affects me nevertheless. Fly high king." While another added: "Stakes are high searching for amazing experiences. Eternal respect - rest in peace." Shortly before his death, he posted a photo of the Hong Kong skyline. An official cause of death has not yet been recorded.
