Strictly Come Dancing's Aljaž Škorjanec has revealed he 'hasn't moved' since welcoming his baby daughter on Friday.

The professional dancer, 33, shares Lyra Rose with Strictly: It Takes Two host, Janette Manrara, 39. After the couple told fans they had become parents for the first time, Aljaž took to his Instagram Stories explaining how his life has changed. Sharing a black and white photo of himself gazing at Lyra's crib, he wrote: "Love at every sight. I haven't moved today."

The happy couple shared the joyous news of Lyra's arrival last week with a heartfelt post on Instagram. Janette posted a beautiful photo of herself in hospital with her daughter sleeping on her chest - alongside a beaming Aljaž - with the caption: "Lyra Rose Skorjanec. July 28, 2023."

The couple's famous friends rushed to the comments to congratulate them, with new mum Gemma Atkinson, who is engaged to Strictly star Gorka Marquez, writing: "Just wonderful."

Emmerdale star Lisa Riley, who appeared on Strictly in 2012, wrote: "CONGRATULATIONS….little Lyra one thing is for sure, with your beautiful Mum and Dad you will be loved, loved and loved some more." Meanwhile, dancer Amy Dowden said the news was"utter perfection" while former Strictly judge Arlene Phillips wrote: "Beautiful moment. Years of joy ahead . All the love."

Janette and Aljaž got hitched in 2017 and announced their baby news back in February after they had been trying to conceive for more than two years. Strictly spin off host Janette praised her husband for being a 'complete super dad' and admitted he 'cried everyday' during their 'miracle' pregnancy.

"He's wanted to be a dad since day one and he's so obsessed, he would breastfeed the baby if he could," Janette said recently. "He wants to be a co-parent 100% and we'll be a real team," she told Closer. Janette also revealed Aljaž sent her memes of baby tips and advice he had found online. She added: "As a working mum, having someone like that on your side is such a breath of fresh air."

Last month, the Miami-born star told HELLO! magazine she would be back presenting It Takes Two, when it returns to screens the autumn - thanks to the support of Aljaž. “Aljaž is going to step in and do daddy daycare and if he can’t I will take the baby to work with me," Janette shared.

Slovenian-born Aljaž was a pro-dancer on Strictly for nine years until he quit after the 2022 series, following in the footsteps of his wife, who quit the year earlier after eight years strutting her stuff on the dance floor.

He added to the mag, “I’ve changed nappies before. At the end of the day it all comes down to how much you want to be involved. We’re lucky that I can take a step back from everything else and just be a dad for the time being.”
