EA FC 24 Ultimate Team Evolutions – upgrades and position changes explained
EA Sports has provided some positive updates on EA FC 24 over the last few weeks, and the addition of Ultimate Team Evolutions looks set to be one of the best new features in the game.
EA FC 24 is the first instalment of the new EA Sports FC game series, with the new game set to be released in September, replacing EA Sports' popular FIFA franchise. The last few weeks have all been about FIFA 23's successor, with EA starting to unveil all about the new game, including some new Ultimate Team features.
A deep dive into Ultimate Team is set to be released in August, but at the EA FC 24 launch event, EA went into detail on its biggest addition to Ultimate Team, Evolutions. As well as providing updates on Ultimate Team, EA also announced new changes coming to gameplay, Clubs and Career Mode, as well as revealing the official EA FC 24 cover star.
Here's everything we know about Evolutions in EA FC 24 Ultimate Team, and how it looks set to be the best new addition by EA in years.
EA FC 24 Ultimate Team Evolutions explained
Ultimate Team Evolutions is a new way to build your UT squad with the players you want, allowing players more flexibility. In EA FC 24, you can take that feeling of developing a hidden gem into one of the world's best from Career Mode to Ultimate Team, thanks to Evolutions.
Chelsea winners and losers from record transfer window as more changes to comeEvolutions is a simple concept. You can put the player of your choice into Evolution paths, and using that player, you must complete in-game challenges and objectives to earn permanent upgrades. This allows players to have the chance to upgrade players they love throughout the Ultimate Team cycle, creating a real club legend.
You can use whichever player you want to upgrade, it hasn't just got to be a low-rated player! For example, say at the beginning of EA FC 24, your favourite player to use is an 80-rated gold striker. After a few months, this player will become unusable because of the power curve change, due to UT promos being released, and you may not use them again.
But Evolutions means that once in every Ultimate Team season, you can upgrade a player of your choice, so by the time the TOTS promo comes around, this 80-rated striker could've stayed in your team all game long and now be 93-rated.
It's a cool concept, but it doesn't stop there. Special cards can also be upgraded using Evolutions, whilst you can also change players' positions and earn weak foot and skill move upgrades.
So, say your team was lacking a powerful commander in midfield, but you couldn't find anyone in your price range who fit your team? Well using Evolutions, you could turn the likes of Virgil van Dijk into a CDM and change his stats to suit his new position.
A whole new variety of customisation and opportunities have opened up with Evolutions, and I for one am extremely excited to see what I can do with it in EA FC 24.
