A passenger has been praised by parents for refusing to give up her first class seat to a child.

Sabra, a Seattle pharmacist, was on board a 13 hour Air France flight to Paris when she was asked by a crew member whether she wanted to give up her seat for a child, so they could sit with their family.

In the viral six-second video, which was captioned, POV: "Flight agent asks me if I want to give up my 1A seat so a child sits with their family", it shows Sabra sat on her first class seat while the words “Girl, f*** them kids and f***k you too” — plays in the background. She wrote in the caption with a laughing emoji: “That’s a no from me dawg,” before asking her followers: “Would you have given up your seat?”

The clip, which has been viewed over nine million times, has largely divided opinion but seen parents agreeing with her. Many are applauding her for standing her ground. A parent wrote: "Most everyone agreed that if parents want their kid to sit next to them, it's their responsibility to plan accordingly beforehand."

Another added: "Good for you! If they wanted their kid next to them they should have booked adjacent seats." One user believed they were doing it to try and get a free upgrade, writing: “Just know they booked two business and one eco thinking they’ll strong-arm someone into giving up their seat."

“I wonder if some families actually on purpose buy the cheapest tickets, to plan to ask someone for their seat. ‘I got kids, pls move,'” said another. Sabra revealed to BuzzFeed she was upgraded on her trip with Air France, and entertained the possibility of switching but the seats she was offered were not as good as hers.

She confessed: "I often get upgraded to first class on domestic flights thanks to my Delta status but this was my first time flying first class internationally where you get the 'real' business class experience. "So that was one of the reasons why I was particularly excited about this flight and the seat that I had purchased and picked in advance."

“It was still first class but all the way in the back,” she explained. “I kindly said that I’d rather keep the seat I selected and she didn’t insist. They went ahead and found another resolution pretty quickly.” “So no, I am not a terrible human being,” she quipped. “Also the child was like 13.”

However, some social media users questioned why her first instinct wasn't to switch with the child with one of the parents. “Why isn’t their first instinct is to just switch the child with one of her parents so they could be with a guardian… lmao,” one skeptic TikToker asked.

“Nope, cause, as a mom, it’s a parents responsibility to plan ahead,” added another. “Just travelled to Europe for 1.5 months with my toddler and no one had to move.”
