Ethan reportedly didn't tell his wife about his romance with Ariana until 'days before the news broke'

The soon-to-be ex-wife of Ariana Grande's new boyfriend has revealed her single focus moving forward as she comes to terms with the heartbreak of her broken marriage.

Lilly Jay has been married to Ethan Slater for five years, and the couple welcomed a baby son 11 months ago. This week it was reported that Ethan has been dating pop star Ariana and he has since filed for divorce.

Ariana and Ethan met while filming the Wicked movie, which started in December, and the trio spent time together away from the set - with Ariana even holding the couple's son.

Lilly was allegedly "completely blindsided" when she heard the news the two were reportedly dating, and has since spoken out about her heartbreak.

Speaking to Page Six she said that her family is just "collateral damage", adding that Ariana is "not a girl's girl".

She said: "I am focused on rebuilding a life for our son,' she said. 'This is what I am trying to do and this is my only focus."

Rumours started to fly around Ariana's marriage to Dalton Gomez after she was spotted without her wedding ring at Wimbledon on July 17. She's since deleted all of their wedding photos from social media.

Then, her new romance with Ethan came to light.

Ethan and Ariana were reported to be affectionate and very 'hands on' on the set of the upcoming Wicked movie. Ariana plays the good witch in the highly-anticipated film, with Ethan playing Boq.

Sources close to him claim that Lilly and Ethan split just before he started seeing Ariana romantically.

The source said: “She’s rightfully upset because her marriage fell apart, but Ariana and Ethan didn’t do anything wrong... Ethan is trying to take the high road and hopes he can resolve this situation for the sake of their child.”

Ethan filed for divorce in New York on July 27, but the reason for listing has not yet been revealed.

Despite the update, Ethan is said to be very keep to play a big part in his son's life. A source close to the couple said he has been speaking to Lilly "daily" about their little boy.

The source said Lilly has reassured Ethan that she is willing to co-parent with him. Speaking to TMZ, they further claimed that he asked his former partner to issue a statement to tell fans they are "committed to co-parenting".

However, Lilly is said to have wanted to defer the statement for now.
