S Club have revealed their late bandmate Paul Cattermole was the 'happiest they had ever seen him' before his sudden death at the age of 46.

Paul who shot to fame in band S Club 7 alongside his six bandmates in the early noughties, was found dead at his home in Dorset on April 6.

The official coroner's certificate confirmed the singer's death as being 'natural causes' whilst also citing heart related issues as the reason for the star's tragic death. Heart issues including cardiac arrhythmia, acute myocardial ischemia and severe coronary artery atheroma and intraplaque hemorrhage were listed on the official certificate.

Three months on from Paul's tragic death, his former bandmates have revealed that the singer was the happiest he had ever been before his sudden death.

Paul's grieving bandmates, Bradley McIntosh, 41, Rachel Stevens, 45, Jo O'Meara, 44, Tina Barrett, 46, and Jon Lee, 41, have all recalled how excited their late friend was about S Club's reunion tour.

Speaking on the Scott Mill's Radio 2 show, Jo gushed: "He was so happy, he was so excited for this reunion and tour and buzzing around like a little bee. This time round he was the happiest I have ever known him, he was in such a good place."

The band, who are releasing new single These Are The Days their late friend Paul's honour, also credited their loyal fans for 'keeping them going' during the grieving process after Paul's sudden death.

Following Paul's death, his ex girlfriend Hannah quit the band and pulled out of the anticipated reunion.

In Hannah's absence, the remaining members have decided to continue on the planned tour as a five-piece and earlier this month announced their first single in 20 years.

While shooting the video for the new track, Jo, Rachel, Tina, Bradley, and Jon opened up about a strange encounter on set, saying they believe Paul's spirit visited them.

Tina explained to The Sun : “We were all sat down and a butterfly came from nowhere. It was a really bright, beautiful butterfly which flew down and went off.

“I don’t know why, but I just thought, ‘That’s Paul’. It came from nowhere.” Rachel added: “There’s little signs of Paul everywhere. On the video shoot, there was a vinyl coaster and it said ‘Good Times’ on it. That was his song.”

The S Club singer's death was announced by his family and his band S Club 7 in April with fans and famous friends flooding social media with tributes and sharing their memories of the late star. A statement from the band to announce Paul's death read: "We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul.

"There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel. We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have. He will be so deeply missed by each and every one of us. We ask that you respect the privacy of his family and of the band at this time."
