Glorious Goodwood is upon us, with the finest horses flat racing has to offer arriving on the South Downs for five days of top class racing. And to celebrate, the Daily Mirror has a packed week of content, with 12 page pullouts every day of the festival, PLUS a £2 William Hill bet from Tuesday August 1 - Saturday August 5, 2023 .

The Sussex countryside provides a stunning backdrop for the racing, with the racecourse situated at the top of the Downs. Established in 1802, ‘Glorious Goodwood’, now known as the Qatar Goodwood Festival, sits alongside Royal Ascot as one of the main events in the British flat racing calendar.

Three of the 36 group one races of the British flat-racing season take place around the iconic course, with the Sussex Stakes, the Goodwood Cup and the Nassau Stakes all providing thousands of visiting fans with high-quality racing to enjoy.

The Festival kicks off with a world class day of racing on Tuesday, 1st August, with the Goodwood Cup showcasing some of the best stayers in the world. Then, on Wednesday, the £1 million Qatar Sussex Stakes takes centre stage.

Thursday is Ladies’ Day, with the Nassau Stakes for fillies and Mares one of the main races of the week. Blue Rose Cen is currently the 11/8 favourite for that one, with plenty of competition in a top quality field. Saturday, meanwhile, sees the high-speed King George Qatar Stakes before the renowned Stewards’ Cup handicap.
