Eagles QB Jalen Hurts turns down Netflix series "Quarterback" for second time
Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts has turned down an opportunity to be on the Netflix docuseries, "Quarterback," not once but twice.
Several NFL quarterbacks, including Hurts, Justin Fields, Tua Tagoviloa, Matthew Stafford, and Sam Howell, have declined to participate in the series created by NFL Films, Peyton Manning's Omaha Productions, and 2PM Productions, a new company formed by Patrick Mahomes. The show aims to provide viewers with a behind-the-scenes look at the NFL season through the perspective of top-level quarterbacks.
With the show running out of options, Manning recently stated that only a few QBs have passed, with many more wanting to be involved. For Hurts, he declined both Season 1 and Season 2, noting his career is just getting going.
"There's a lot of the journey to be told and a lot to unfold that will be told one day. That time will come," said Hurts.
So far, the series has participation from Mahomes, Kirk Cousins, and Marcus Mariota in 2022. The show takes viewers inside the huddles of their favorite teams and inside their homes away from the field.

It captured behind-the-scenes footage of some of the most significant moments throughout the NFL calendar, including Mahomes setting an NFL record for total offense on his way to winning the Super Bowl and MVP award.
For Cousins, he is featured leading the Minnesota Vikings to an NFC North Division title in one of the greatest comebacks in the history of the NFL. "Quarterback" will also show Mariota taking over as the starting signal caller for the Atlanta Falcons in his first and only season with the team in 2022. Mariota was released by the Falcons, and joined the Eagles on a one-year deal worth $5 million.
"I'm excited for fans to get an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at an unforgettable season for the entire Chiefs organization and my family," said Mahomes in a press release. "From welcoming home a new baby in the middle of the season to welcoming the Lombardi Trophy back to Kansas City, our crew was there for it all. This new Netflix series will show the time, preparation, and balance it takes to be an NFL quarterback and perform on the biggest stage."
Netflix missed out on the best statistical year of Hurts' career last season. He threw for 3,701 yards with 22 touchdowns while running for 760 yards with 13 TDs. During his performance in the Super Bowl - against Mahomes - Hurts threw for 304 yards and one touchdown while rushing for 70 yards and scoring three times.
He did lose a fumble, which was returned for a touchdown during the game, contributing to the Eagles' 38-35 loss to the Chiefs and Mahomes.
