BBC presenter Emma Louise Jones has recalled how walking her puppy turned into a terrifying task.

The sports host took to her own social media to share her story after she was "repeatedly stopped" by a man to asked her for photos. She says he also made other requests which she didn't want to reveal.

Emma, 33, admitted the harassment made her feel "uncomfortable" and has urged anyone who has witnesses anything similar to help those in "uncomfortable interactions."

Taking to Twitter, she wrote: "I’ve taken my puppy on the same walk near my house the last few days & the same man has repeatedly stopped me to tell me he wants to take photos of me (along with other stuff that I won’t mention here).

"This makes women/girls feel uncomfortable & I would urge anyone who sees what looks like an uncomfortable interaction to not just ignore it and walk past.

"You don’t always have to intervene, but even just having the presence of someone else nearby can be reassuring." The TV presenter works on MOTDx and on ViaPlay.

She made a name for herself after working on Leeds TV and amassed a following of nearly 337,000. She has since had roles with Channel 5, Bauer Media and Viking FM.

However, Emma has had to deal with a number of trolls over the years online. In November last year, the sports presenter took to social media to share a screenshot of an account using her pictures on dating app Tinder. The fake account had used the name Amber and age 35.

Emma wrote: "If you're going to fake a Tinder profile, please don't make me older". It wasn't the first time she had called out trolls as she received a direct message from an Instagram user which read: "You can throw me around the bedroom if you like".

The message was in response to a story which had the caption: "Why does my arm look like Judi Hench?" In response to the troll, Jones simply replied: "No, Joshua".

While earlier this year, Emma shared an X-rated message she had received. The troll messaged Emma where they offered to pay for her to kick them "in the b****" as part of some twisted fantasy.

The famous Leeds fan highlighted the unacceptable message, which was received while she was recovering from a nasty chest infection.

She wrote: "I've had a few messages asking why I haven't posted on my [Instagram] story this week (I didn't think anyone would notice, so thank you).

"I've got a chest infection... so I'm in bed with my antibiotics and I honk [smell] of Vicks VapoRub. I'm back filming again on Friday, so I want to make sure I'm well enough for that! In the meantime, I'll be sure to share any fake tinder profiles I get sent. Lots of love!"

Emma was then sent a screenshot of a fake Facebook profile, which claimed she was living in Preston. She shared it and added: "Right on cue."

She then shared the rest of the message from the troll, which read: "Another fake account of you is on... now that I have your attention, can you please kick me in the b****?" I'll pay". She added: "As if I didn't feel ill enough."

Emma has been the target of trolls online, along with a number of other female sport presenters. Laura Woods is also targeted by trolls and defended Jones when she received misogynistic abuse for wearing a dress.

One troll told Emma she would not be "taken seriously" in the industry for posting a picture of her dress, while another unfairly accused her of "sexualising her image". She responded by calling her the trolls "misogynists and dinosaurs".

Laura Woods supported Emma, writing: "What some people don’t get is... you're allowed to be both! You're smart and you're beautiful. One shouldn't and doesn't cancel out the other. I absolutely love seeing other people's glams, women AND men. And if you stopped posting them I'd be pretty disappointed tbh [to be honest]."
