S Club have addressed whether or not Hannah Spearritt will ever re-join the band after the tragic death of Paul Cattermole ahead of the release of their upcoming single.

The British band announced in February that it would be reuniting in honor of its 25th anniversary, much to the delight of his devout fanbase.

S Club, formerly known as S Club 7, was hit by a devastating blow, however, when in April, their beloved Paul died unexpectedly aged 46 at his Dorset home.

Shortly after Paul's death was announced to the public, Hannah - who dated the late singer from 2001 to 2006 - pulled out of the reunion.

The group has since renamed their upcoming tour 'The Good Times Tour', which is a reference to a 2001 song which led with Paul's vocals. The highly-anticipated shows will run from October to 12 to 26, with opening night kicking off in Manchester and the final concert taking place in Birmingham. The quintet, which includes remaining members Jon Lee, Bradley McIntosh, Jo O'Meara, Rachel Stevens and Tina Barrett, will also be taking to stages in London, Dublin, Leeds, Nottingham, Cardiff and Sheffield.

When asked if there was a possibility of Hannah ever returning to the band, Jon said, "I guess that’s a conversation for Hannah to have. She’s not going to be joining us on this tour but we’ve got loads of stuff that’s happening next year so the door is always open. She might join us on the project next year at some point."

"It’s nothing bad. It’s just that everyone needs their own space," Tina added.

Paul and Hannah famously rekindled their romance in 2015, only to split up after just a few months. It has been widely reported that the exes were on shaky terms after their second separation, with rumours whirring that Paul was upset over the 42-year-old's new relationship with Primeval star Andrew-Lee Potts. It's understood that the two had met up for coffee and reconciled, however, ahead of S Club's reunion tour.

Hannah, who is now a mother of two children with partner Adam Thomas, shared her grief over Paul's sudden death in April.

"It’s still so raw and I have these moments where I don’t quite believe that it’s real. I still can’t believe I will never see him again," she told the Sun.

"It’s all the more tragic because he was looking forward to the tour the most out of all of us. He just wanted to have fun and enjoy it." Hannah also shared her sympathy for Paul's family, before adding, "He was happier than he had been in years, so for this to happen now, makes it even more heartbreaking."

S Club are set to release their first single in two decades, These Are The Days, on Wednesday, as a tribute to their dearly missed Paul.
