Britney Spears' memoir 'delayed over Justin Timberlake's concerns'

Britney Spears has reportedly been forced to delay the release date of her memoir, The Woman In Me.

There's thought to be concern about possible litigation from Justin Timberlake and Colin Farrell as parts of Britney's book were reported to include claims about each of the men. An insider said that unless Britney removed these statements, lawyers would pursue the case.

As a result, Britney has reportedly had to make a difficult decision about how she wants to proceed with publication. The content of these claims is yet to be revealed, but it was thought to be enough to raise a red flag to both Timberlake and Farrell's teams.

The insider told The Sun: "Lawyers demanded to see her book in advance and were adamant that some of the revelations were removed. There are still plenty of gobsmacking tales but Timberlake and Farrell were conscious about what could be said about them."

Britney dated Justin from 1999 to 2000 and Colin in 2003.

Thankfully, the source also said that the tension has subsided. After much back and forth, the parties have agreed on what can and can't be included. Now, "her autobiography is all ready to go," they said.

The book will be released to the world on October 24 and is described as "brilliant and heartfelt" by another source.

This source told The Sun: "It has given Britney the chance to tell her own story, which certainly hasn’t been easy but which will be incredibly enlightening for her fans."

Fans may be interested to know that the book will also explore Britney's relationship with her family. It will reportedly include an exploration of her 13-year conservatorship that gave her father, Jamie Spears, control over her life. While the conservatorship is now over, a lot of behind-the-scenes details about what that was like for Britney have previously been kept from the public.

Gallery Books, which is publishing the memoir, described the book as "a brave and astonishingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith and hope".

Senior vice-president Jennifer Bergstrom told PEOPLE: "Britney’s compelling testimony in open court shook the world, changed laws, and showed her inspiring strength and bravery."

Britney's long career and time in the limelight gives the star quite a lot of content to talk about within the covers of the book. What other details she may include is yet to be know, but all those answers will be revealed soon.
