Meghan Markle's ex pal says duchess 'wasn't up to the job' amid split claims

One of Meghan Markle's former friends has spoken out on the rumours that she and husband Prince Harry could be splitting up.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are yet to comment on the claims, byt a friend of the couple has hit back at the rumours and said they're "literally made up".

However the rumours and sources claim that the former military serviceman and the former actress who married in 2018 have been living separate lives.

Claims have said that Harry has a room kept for him at a nearby hotel due to the couple drifting apart as Meghan spends increasingly more time in central Los Angeles.

The rumours say that the couple were said to have been "taking time apart", but a source has said this is completely false and "literally made up" when speaking to Page Six.

Former WAG Lizzie Cundy, who used to be friends with Meghan prior to her marriage to Prince Harry, has now spoken out on the rumours that the royal couple could be heading for divorce. Speaking to the Mirror, Lizzie said: "I don't want to see any couples split up when any marriage falls apart it's sad, especially when you have children.

"We could all see the writing was on the wall, it's very different when you're a celebrity princess than being a royal princess and frankly Meghan just wasn't up for the job. She didn't want to put the hard work in opening hospitals and doing all the roles that royals do, it's not easy it's not glamorous, it's not like on the red carpet. I think Meghan thought she was going to be the top dog star of the show and Princess Kate was always going to have that role."

Meghan and Lizzie, who are now no longer close pals, met in 2013 when Lizzie was asked to sit with the actress at a charity event held by her pal John Caudwell. At the time, Meghan allegedly wanted a role on Made In Chelsea and Lizzie attempted to set her up with Ashley Cole.

Meghan and Harry, who wed in 2018, moved from the UK to California shortly after they made the controversial decision to step down as senior working royals in 2020. Since then, they have delivered several bombshells including allegations of racism within the Royal Family, and claims that Harry was "cut off financially" by his dad, King Charles. In his memoir, he opened up about losing his virginity and drug use.
