LIV Golf star Pat Perez has posted a touching tribute to his brother Mikey following his sibling's tragic passing.

Perez - who plays alongside Dustin Johnson, Patrick Reed and Peter Uihlein for the 4Aces - confirmed the death of his brother to his 179,000 followers on Instagram. The American star posted a family photo which included him arm-in-arm with his sibling. In a statement, Perez wrote: "This is the saddest day of my life. My little brother Mikey has passed. I don’t know what to say as I thought this day would never come. We had so much fun together growing up and he was always in my corner.

"We did everything together. He wanted nothing but my happiness and was so proud of me. He was the life of the party. Everyone that knew him loved him and he was always happy and upbeat." Admitting he had been left 'devastated' by the loss, Perez went on: "It’s hard to believe that I won’t be able to call him anymore and we won’t be able to spend time with each other. He was such a big part of my life and losing him is beyond devastating.

"I’m really at a loss for words. Gonna be a long life without him in it. I Love you little brother. I hope we get to see each other again one day and I hope you find your peace." Following his tribute a number of the American's followers paid their respects in the comments, including his fellow players.

His 4Aces teammate Uihlein offered his condolences, writing: "Thoughts and prayers to you and your family," and similar sentiments were also offered by Korn Ferry Tour star, Chan Kim who added: "Sorry for your loss PP. Mikey will be missed by all."
