A pub made famous on a classic British TV classic has hit the market with a price-tag of just £175,000.

The Goathland Hotel is of course also known as the Aidensfield Arms – the backdrop for plenty of drama over the years in popular television series Heartbeat.

If you love a little telly nostalgia, then this could be for you. The nine-room property in Whitby, Yorkshire, is a total bargain and around a third of the price of a tiny flat in London or Manchester.

What's more, the listing on Rightmove shows it has eight ensuite rooms, a residents lounge and a car park.

One Tripadvisor review of the TV-famed public house read: "Such a beautiful family run hotel in such a nostalgic area.

"Staff where so friendly and food was lovely. Thank you for the hospitality and already booked to return."

Based in the beautiful north Yorkshire Moors, the village boozer was at the centre of some big storylines.

For almost 20 years, Heartbeat was the Sunday night staple as families sat down to watch together.

Set in the 1960s, it followed the lives of the residents of the fictional Aidensfield and, in particular, its police officers for a staggering 18 series and 372 episodes.

The hit show drew audiences of more than 13million in its prime time Sunday night slot.

Over the next almost two decades, characters came and went but the gentle plot lines and warm fuzzy feeling it created never faltered.

It made stars of actors including Niamh Cusack, Joe McFadden, Jason Burr and Nikki Sanderson and was loved by viewers both young and old.

But, in 2010, Heartbeat was axed amid falling ratings, leaving both its fans and the village where it was filmed devastated as an entire tourist industry had developed in the filming locations.

There were rumours the Sunday night series would be picked up by Sky, but sadly this was not the case and in 2010 the last episode aired.
