USA star Christian Pulisic outlines awe for "magic" Lionel Messi after debut
USMNT talisman Chrisitian Pulsiic has described how he was left in "awe" after Lionel Messi's fairytale last-minute winner on his Inter Miami debut.
The Argentine icon has may have already scored over 800 goals for club and country during his glittering career but his ability to produce memorable moments shows no sign of dwindling. His latest strike in the dying moments of a Leagues Cup versus Cruz Azul on his bow for his new club was another reminder of the superstar's genius.
Even his own peers were left astounded by this latest example of the 36-year-old's extraordinary talents, with USMNT winger Pulisic having openly admitted that his admiration for the World Cup winner's spectacular efforts. Like millions of people around the globe, the AC Milan ace's eyes were glued to the TV screen as the former Barcelona hero made his debut for the Herons.
The lofted free-kick may not have been the most important goal of his career so far but it may well go on to be viewed as a seminal moment in the history of the sport in the US. Undoubtedly, it served as the perfect way to announce his arrival stateside in front of a celebrity crowd that included sporting royalty including Serena Williams and LeBron James and TV megastar Kim Kardashian.
The former Chelsea forward did acknowledge that the strike was another example of everything observers have come to expect from the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner. However, like many, he could not help but be left in amazement as he delivered in dramatic circumstances on his debut.

He told Bleacher Report : "It's just one of those things where you go 'Of course it happened that way.' It almost doesn't surprise you anymore (with) what we've seen from him in the past decade or more. What he's accomplished, what he continues to do, the World Cup finally.
"And then seeing him come in like that with all of the stars watching him play, it really just doesn't surprise me anymore, but it's still special watching him."

The USMNT fan-favourite opened up on his excitement for this new chapter in his career with the seven-time European champions, saying: "I haven't been able to express myself at my best in recent seasons at Chelsea, but now I've moved on and I want to get back to my level."
